– As Emohua Community Leaders Donates Portion Of Land For State High Court Building
Following the approval for the creation of a division of Rivers State high court in Emohua Local Government Area by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, Hon Justice S.C Amadi in response to the request made by Emohua Local Government, the council chairman, Dr Chidi Lloyd, says the Local Government Council has also decided to undertake the construction of the state high court building in Emohua.
Dr Lloyd said the Local Government will be constructing the Emohua division of Rivers State high court which will be handed over to the state judiciary on completion, to fast track the decongestion of the Isiokpo division of the state high court, in order to promote quick dispensation of justice in Rivers State.
The council chairman disclosed this at a brief meeting with the paramount rulers, chiefs and elders from the eight communities of Emohua Kingdom ( Elibrada, Isiodu, Mgbuetor, Mgbuitanwo, Oduoha, Rumuakunde, Rumuche and Rumuohia) held at Obiri Ohna Emohua on Tuesday.
Dr Lloyd said the essence of the meeting was to formally request for a portion of land from leaders of Emohua communities for the construction of the Rivers State high court division approved by the Chief Judge.
The council chairman commended the Chief Judge for his swift response to the request made by the Local Government and the immediate approval for the creation of a state high court division in Emohua.
Elder Statesman, Ohna Sergeant Awuse who spoke on behalf of the Traditional Rulers, Chiefs and Elders of Emohua kingdom commended the Dr Chidi Lloyd for his commitment to the development of Emohua Local Government Area, stating that the community leaders were determined to give the necessary support to the Local Government chairman to ensure that the state high court is sited in Emohua.
The community leaders later donated a portion of land at the former Emohua Police Station in Ahia-Ezi Emohua to the Local Government for the construction of the State high court.
The council chairman was accompanied to the meeting by the Vice Chairman of Emohua Local Government Council, Hon Mrs Edna Nyeche, the secretary of the council, Chief Vincent Chukwu and other principal officers of the Local Government.
